Repairs we handle every week
- Shingles blown off or creased by wind
- Cracked rubber pipe boots around plumbing vents
- Failed step flashing and counter flashing at chimneys and walls
- Leaking skylights and skylight flashing kits
- Worn or open valleys
- Exposed or backed-out nails
- Damaged drip edge, fascia and soffit at the roof edge
Finding the actual leak
Water travels along rafters and decking before it shows up inside, so the stain you see can be several feet from the opening. We check the attic, follow the water trail, and then inspect the roof above it. Fixing the real entry point is what keeps you from paying for the same repair twice.
Repair or replace?
If your roof is reasonably young and the damage is limited to one area, a repair is almost always the right call. If the roof is near the end of its life, we will tell you, and we will tell you what a repair would buy you in the meantime. You decide; we do not push replacements on roofs that do not need them.
If water is coming in now
Put a bucket under the drip, move valuables and electronics away, and poke a small hole at the lowest point of any ceiling bulge so water drains instead of spreading. Then call us. When a full repair has to wait for dry weather, we can tarp the area to stop further damage.
